What is a Guardian Family

This plan is used by many breeders and is often called a “Guardian Home” program.  Summarized – the breeding dog lives with their adoptive family and returns to us for breeding as needed. The female stays with us for about 7 days during her heat cycle, to be bred. Then, she returns to whelp (deliver) the puppies a week before they are due, staying with us until the puppies are weaned (about 6-7 weeks total). That would be the perfect time for you to plan your vacation...built-in pet sitting! Males return when a female that he is needed for stud is in heat.  We work with our Guardian Homes using a simple contract and we provide support and guidance all along the way, staying in contact through the year. At the end of the Guardian Home Family contract, the dogs belong 100% to the Guardian Family.

We believe that parent breeding dogs deserve a great home and a great life. All of our dogs are part of our family and live in our home rather than kennels so that we know they are getting as much attention as possible. Sometimes our program requires us to have more dogs than we can lovingly keep in our home, so our answer is to allow some of our breeding dogs to leave us and become part of another family’s life and home. 
The parent dog gets to be a companion/pet and have the happiness of being part of a family and home. This dog lives in their forever home, grows up, is trained, is well socialized, loved and cared for and is part of the family. What could be better?

Win for Family

This program allows you to own a "pick of the litter" puppy. In exchange for your commitment, as outlined in a contract, the purchase price of the puppy is waived. There is additional compensation for each litter produced, as a thank you for your care and time in this team effort. The puppies chosen to be breeding dogs are health tested and cleared of genetic health defects. They are, in essence, "the cream of the crop".

We retain breeding rights for a predetermined amount of time in order to produce beautiful family pets for people all over the U.S. We want to be a blessing to you and to enrich the lives of many dog lovers.
